Weight Loss Q & A

Goldome Healthcare, Inc.

Who supervises the weight loss program?

The weight loss program at Goldome Healthcare, Inc. takes a multipronged approach to helping you lose weight. With this program, you'll have access to three experts:

  • Your physician, Dr. Chen
  • A certified nutritionist
  • A personal trainer

To lose weight successfully, you need to change your eating habits, exercise regularly, and commit yourself fully to the process. Having three different experts in these areas gives you the knowledge and tools you need to succeed.

How does the weight loss program work?

First, Dr. Chen performs a physical exam, which may include an EKG to check your heart health and blood tests to check for high cholesterol and other potential issues.

After the assessment, Dr. Chen will determine appropriate and realistic weight loss goals. Depending on your body mass index (BMI), he may prescribe medication to aid in your weight loss. However, it's important to know that medication isn't necessary for successful weight loss; it's simply an aid for those who need it and who qualify for it.

You'll work with a nutritionist to create a diet plan specifically for your needs. Your nutritionist will customize a plan based on your body type, physical activity level, and weight loss goals. You'll also meet with a personal trainer to learn how to include exercise into your routine while factoring in any preferences or physical limitations.

You will meet with Dr. Chen for check-in visits at least once a month. During your visits, you'll discuss your progress and make changes if needed to help you achieve your weight loss goals.

Why should you try to lose weight now?

If you're overweight or obese, it's important to take action now, before the extra weight causes serious physical problems. While many people want to lose weight for their appearance, the health benefits are far greater. By losing weight, you can potentially do all of the following:

  • Lower your blood pressure
  • Lower your cholesterol
  • Have more energy
  • Sleep better
  • Reduce your risk of diabetes

Weight loss is about whole body wellness. If you're overweight or obese and you don't implement healthy habits now, the odds of gaining more weight are very high, which translates to a greater risk of health problems.
